"Perception is Projection"
We project out onto the the world what we have inside.
This is one of the many tenets of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). In this interview, behavioural scientist and NLP practitioner, Dallas Fell, gives nouspod a very brief introduction into this recent, but also very deep branch of psychology. It has profound implications for how we think about learning and behaviour management.
"Each of us has an illusion that we see the world as it really is. And yet this cannot be the case. Every second, we have around 2 million bits of information coming to us through our senses, but can only process around 130 in any meaningful way. It’s like it’s raining toothpicks of information and every second we grab a handful....."
